Formica's North American wide competition challenged students with creating a design that embodied the term “Newstalgia” blending retro and vintage with a modern take.

The Unstacked Lounge is a piece of furniture that can quickly transform any living space into a gathering spot. Celebrating Formica's 110th anniversary, this lounge combines vintage Boomerang patterns with modern Fenix colors, evoking a sense of "Newstalgia."

Inspired by 1970s wave patterns, its silhouette captures a psychedelic vibe. The Unstacked Lounge embodies Formica's legacy of designing spaces that foster connection, blending past and present styles seamlessly for modern living.
