Metropolitan Design Competition

Using a minimum of three flooring types, we were tasked with bringing Metropolitans tag line “crafted with conscience” to life. Metropolitan prides themselves on knowing the origins of their forest-to-floor flooring. 

The flooring panels are vertically mounted in multiple tiers to form a gentle arch opening over the world map symbolizing the uncovering of the flooring’s origins. We invite visitors to place a pin on the map to show us where they came from. Our goal was to craft an interactive experience that presents a captivating visual statement, paying conscious tribute to our origins and the deep connection we hold with our environment.
